Puerto Aventuras prepares a community-wide independent film programme
Puerto Aventuras is preparing for four days of independent film screenings from April 4 to April 7, 2024. The festival’s announced selection brings together more than 50 projects representing 27 countries.
Rather than concentrating the programme in a single theatre, the organisers have outlined several community venues: a beach cinema at the PA Hotel & Beach Club, a golf-cart drive-in near Divot Cocina Mexiterranea, patio screenings at Munchy’s Bar & Grill and a marina setting at Nauti Burro.
The programme spans feature films, documentaries, shorts and music videos. The organisers also plan filmmaker discussions, a reception and an awards ceremony, with more than a dozen filmmakers and producers expected to take part.
Dewey Paul Moffitt and Moe Taylor are the festival directors. Their March announcement sets out a format that combines film screenings with opportunities for audiences to meet the people behind the work.
